چکیده

Running title: Analysis of a discrete one-island migration model Abstract. A system of nonlinear diierence equations is used to model the eeects of density-dependent selection and migration in a population characterized by two alleles at a single gene locus. Results for the existence and stability of polymorphic equilibria are established. Properties for a genetically important class of equilibria associated with complete dominance in tness are described. The birth of an unusual chaotic attractor is also illustrated. This attractor is produced when migration causes chaotic dynamics on a boundary of phase space to bifurcate into the interior of phase space, resulting in bistable genetic polymorphic behavior. 3

Dynamical behaviour of a discrete selection-migration model with arbitrary dominance

To study the effects of immigration of genes (possibly transgenic) into a natural population, a one-island selection-migration model with density-dependent regulation is used to track allele frequency and population size. The existence and uniqueness of a polymorphic genetic equilibrium is proved under a general assumption about dominance in fitnesses. Also, conditions are found which guarantee...

Initial stages of Cu epitaxy on Ni(100): Postnucleation and a well-defined transition in critical island size.

We present a comprehensive study of the nucleation kinetic of Cu on Ni~100! using variable-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy. The analysis of the saturation island density as a function of substrate temperature and deposition rate reveals that the smallest stable island abruptly changes from a dimer to a tetramer. From the Arrhenius plot, the migration barrier Em5~0.3560.02! eV, as well...

Emergence of population growth models: fast migration and slow growth.

We present aggregation and emergence methods in large-scale dynamical systems with different timescales. Aggregation corresponds to the reduction of the dimension of a dynamical system which is replaced by a smaller model for a small number of global variables at a slow timescale. We study the couplings between fast and slow dynamics leading to the emergence of global properties in the aggregat...

Sociological Survey of Factors Influencing Tourism Satisfaction (Case study: Foreign Tourists in Kish Island)

The purpose of this study is to do a sociological survey of the factors affecting tourism satisfaction. This study is carried out with sample group of 250 foreign tourists in Kish Island, by the survey method and the data is collected by an English questionnaire. The study uses Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory, Homans’ Exchange Theory, and Morton’s Instrument and Goal Theory to explain the touris...
